Lune

Lune or Luna is a poetic name for Earth's Moon. Lune is French for Moon.
It is also:
- A river in the United Kingdom: River Lune
- The name of some natural features in J. R. R. Tolkien's fictional universe of Middle-earth:
- the river Lhûn or Lune,
- the Gulf of Lune, and
- the Ered Luin, sometimes called "Ered Lune", the Blue Mountains.
- In mathematics, a lune is the area on the surface of the sphere between two great half-circles on the sphere. It is an antipodal digon. See the Mathworld article on "spherical lune".
- In real tennis, a lune is a point scoring opening in a jeu quarré court.
