Luminova

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Luminova or Super-LumiNova is a non-radioactive photo-luminescent pigment manufactured and marketed by LumiNova AG Switzerland, a joint-venture of Nemoto & Co. Ltd. of Tokyo, Japan and RC TRITEC AG of Teufen, Switzerland.

Because it does not use a radioactive isotope such as radium or tritium, Luminova needs to be "activated" by application of visible or ultraviolet light. After charging, the pigment will glow for several hours.
