Lumberjack World Championships

The Lumberjack World Championships (LWC's) are held by stihl in a different country every year, showcasing the worlds best jumberjackers. Competitors from North America, Australia, and New Zealand frequently participate in the events. Events include logrolling, speed-climbing, the boom run, standing chop, springboard chop, underhand chop, tree topping, cross-cut sawing (singles and doubles), and hot sawing.


while this is the 'official' world championships, many regard the royal sydney easter show the pinnical of the woodchopping stage, with 5 world championships held every year at the event, usualy a single and double handed sawing, standing block, underhand and a tree climbing event. the wood cut at the easter show is hard variety of 'silvertop' ash.
