[edit] First cut
I plan to add a little more to this stub over the next week or so, but based on the limited references available it will probably remain fairly short. --CliffC 03:04, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Luis Fernandez de la Reguera starter article now complete
That's pretty much all I was able to gather from online sources without making this into more of a Rockets Redglare article. If anyone ever does want to write a Rockets Redglare article, there's a ton of information out there.
To anyone who can document more about Luis's life and works, please dig right in and add what you find out. One thing missing that seems a little sad is his exact date of birth, I never found a source that cited it. --CliffC 01:55, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] now Google knows
FWIW, I received my first Google Web Alert for this article early today, so I'm guessing Wikipedia opens the door to search robots either 15 days after a new article is created, or after the article goes 10 days without changes. Sounds like a reasonable policy. --CliffC 20:04, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] nonencyclopedic contributions
I believe Luis' family, meaning well, is adding the personal details of his childhood, like his his favorite song, and that he had a dog named Shrimp, (he did.) This is probably my fault for directing people to contribute to the Wikipedia article from the fernandezdelareguera.com web site. I have changed the wording on that site, explaining that Wikipedia isn't the place to post personal anecdotes, and I will give friends and family a forum to tell more personal stories in the bio section of fernandezdelareguera.com. - Oh, I see. I'm really sorry for any distress I caused the family. It looked like somebody playing that sly vandal game that goes on here all day long, but I couldn't tell for sure so I put on my prick(ly)-Wikipedian hat. Thanks for clearing it up. It's great they have a spot now to share their more personal memories. --CliffC 20:48, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
