Luis Oliveros

Luis Oliveros is a minor league free agent catcher. Oliveros has played the majority of his six seasons with the Seatlte Mariners club in the minors. Primarily in Single A Inland Empire and with the San Antonio Missions.

Oliveros was called up to the majors for a day prior to the All Star Break as Mariners catcher Kenji Jojamomma wanted to go home a day early. Rene Rivera started the game and Oliveros never got into the game. A day later he was removed from the 40 man roster. When no one claimed him he was assigned to Single-A Inland Empire again. Later he was recalled to Double-A San Antonio. When Guilemo Quiros got hurt late in the 2006 season Oliveros became the everyday catcher for the Double A San Antonio Missions.

Oliveros ended with just five RBI's in over 200 at bats in the Texas League in 2006.

September 14, 2006 Oliveros was announced as the bullpen catcher for the Seattle Mariners for the remainder of the 2006 season. Oliveros became a free agent after the World Series.

Oliveros played in the Venezulan Winter League during the winter of 2006. In March of 2007, Oliveros was invited to spring training by the Mariners.
