Luis Alfonzo Larrain was born in the city of La Victoria, Aragua state, Venezuela, July 22, 1911. He was son of Ana Larrain Martínez and Alejandro Alfonzo Pérez. In the year 1918 the Larrain family moves to Caracas and resides in the parish La Pastora, in the Center of the city. From very early age feels attracted by the music, being their first influences the band directed by the teacher Carlo Bonet and Ana Martinez, his mother teach Luis to sing and play the "Cuatro." Already at nine years appear the figure of composer that he was seen stimulated by her magnify singer Spanish Pillar Arches, who include the compositions of the precocious boy in she's repertoire. In 1925, when Luis counted fourteen years, forms a small orchestra, next to the noveles musicians Raúl Briceño (Piano), Rafael Uzcategui (Violin) and Edward Serrano (Drums). Luis Alfonzo executed the " Banjo " and was the "Manager " according to theirselves count.

In 1927 he founds an orchestra with the name of " Flava Orchestra." In 1928 the orchestra was presented in the more distinguished events of the country like: the Majestic Hotel and in the collegiate event " Sacalapatalaja," being considered an irreverence artistic movement antigomecista (against Juan Vicente Gómez). Get inside to the orchestra Federico Ayesta (Trumpet), Heber Hernandez (Violin), Luis Eladio Guevara (Saxophone) and eventually the teacher Antonio Lauro (Guitar). In 1930 intrudes on the behavior in the company " Broadcasting Caracas " next to the distinguished manager William H. Phelps, company that with the years would be called Radio Caracas. He acted feature like Cecilia Martínez, Margot Antillano, Conchita Ascanio, Edgar J. Anzola, Francisco Fossa and Ricardo Espina next to. He was pupil of the teacher Vicente Emilio Sojo and carry out arrangements for the popular merengues, that were worth the aristocratic status that permitted their internationalization and refinement. With the union in marriage with Elisa Soteldo, singer of the orchestra, they had a daughter Keyla Hermecheo, celebrated professional of the Classical Dance and who stand out in the world of the worldwide Ballet. She found the noted school of Ballet Keyla Hermecheo, nursery for the formation of talented dancers classics and also the Metropolitan Ballet of Caracas Venezuela. She is also comanager of manners for America of the Worldwide Alliance of the Dance in the United States of America. Keyla Hermecheo was member of the Executive Worldwide Committee of the Dance. For that time vocalists of national and international like fame like Ada Alba, Carmen Chirinos, Flor Díaz, Trino Finol, with the Orchestra Luisín Landáez, Marco Tulio Maristani, Kiko Mendive, Manolo Monterrey, Graciela Naranjo, Juanito Renot , Rafa Robles, Elio Rubio, Leo Rodriguez, Hilda Salazar, Mario Suarez, Callos Torres, Orlando Vallejo, Pedro Vargas and Maurice Chevalier. They intervene the international stars Carlos Gardel, Tito Guizar, Miguelito Valdez, Teo Camargo, Jorge Negrete, Pedro Infante and Nat King Cole. Like composer he had extensive and inspired production, being the case that the majority of compositions has music and letter of himself. Some of romantic and another popular type. Next to their musical activity, he develop proceeding of intellectual character. He maintained reports in different publications and newspapers on History of the Art, Musical Topics and Humor.
In 1939 stand out in cinematography developing the musical production for the movie " Carambola " with argument of Fini Veracoechea, writed by Rafael Brunicardi and script of Sara Cabrera. He Founds the Larrain Study where they were carried of the recording and the production of musical albums. This company was administered for Eduvigis Bravo wife (Vivita) and culminates their activities in 1987. On May 24, 1955 Luis Alfonzo Larrain founds "SACVEN ", " Society of Authors and Composers from Venezuela," important institution, from the point of view of their social projection, in benefit of the economical security of all their Venezuelan colleagues. Edited the project of the law of authors and composers and achieved that is approved for the National Congress like Law of the Republic of United States of Venezuela.
Luis Alfonzo Larrain died on July 4, 1996, in Caracas.
Some of his works: “Quisiera”, “Vente pa’ca”, “Amandanos”, “Dulce y Picante”, “El Morrocoy”, “El pon pon”, “Se que me Quieres”, “Rosendo”, “Oye mi Cancion”, “La Pelota”.
