Lughaid mac Loeguire

Lughaid mac Loeguire, High King of Ireland, son of Lóegair mac Neill, grandson of Niall Noigiallach (Niall of the Nine Hostages). Died ca. 507.

There are two accounts of his death. In one, Lugaid was killed by a flash of lighting at Achadh Farcha, on account of the insult which he had offered to Patrick. In a second, he was killed in the battle of Ard Corann in 507.
