[edit] Redirection

I saw Tristan da Cunha listed as the navigator's name when it is Tristão da Cunha. I know he's also known as Tristan, but clicking it directed the student to the island chain "Tristan da Cunha". That could be a significant ambiguity problem.... 170.141.92.1 13:59, 7 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] The first European?

I know nothing about this fellow, but this is starkly erroneous. He might have been the first non-Muslim European to enter Mecca after the birth of Islam, but he certainly cannot be described as the first European. There would have been thousands of Muslims from Andalusia making the Hajj long before him. For example, the Andalusian Islamic scholar Yahya ibn Yahya al-Laythi was making visits to the Hijaz and he died in 848AD! People seem to forget that Islam has a long history in Europe. Islamic Spain existed for nearly 700 years -- twice as old as America!

Needless to say, I altered this. Artichoke84 18:37, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
