Ludgate Circus
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ludgate Circus is the intersection of Farringdon Street/New Bridge Street (the A201, leading to Blackfriars Bridge) with Fleet Street/Ludgate Hill, historically the main connexion between the cities of London and Westminster. Had the Fleet Line of the London Underground been built, it would have had a station at Ludgate Circus. City Thameslink station is adjacent. Haytor granite from Dartmoor in South Devon was used in the construction of Ludgate Circus, transported via the unique Haytor Granite Tramway.
