[edit] Thanks

Hi, Luccas,

Thanks for your good work on various Korea-related articles, especially the Busan subway lines. I hope you'll stick around here, even after you leave Korea. We need your help! (In fact, we need everyone's help.)

By the way, I think I've seen you around the 국제교류교육원 at PNU, where I work. Are you still here, or have you moved on? Cheers, -- Visviva 13:39, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject

Hi Luccas,

Glad to see you're still around. Just thought I'd invite you to join WikiProject Korea (started by User:Good friend100), in case you're interested. We can always use your help... -- Visviva 16:14, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] South Korean won

Hi,

I see that you moved the section of "Current situation" (formerly "Future development") down. I thought that it would be more coherent if that section goes with history (what's in the past, and now). --ChoChoPK (球球PK) (talk | contrib) 02:06, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

By the way, have you thought about uploading images to Commons? That way, the image can be used in wikipedia of all languages. --ChoChoPK (球球PK) (talk | contrib) 02:07, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
I moved it down because I combined it with some text in "Banknotes" and then decided to put it as a new section; but you're right, it would be more coherent if it's put with history. It's just that in my opinion I see it as a separate section from history itself (the past and then the present).
As for the currency pictures, I didn't find any copyright information on the BOK website about using the website's images, so that's why I uploaded them as "Fair Use" instead of as "Public Domain" in the Commons. If anyone has a better option they're welcome to do it.

[edit] Thanks again

Hi Luccas,

Thanks for those assessments. Cheers, -- Visviva 07:31, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Help on translation requested

For South Korean hwan. It looks important. From [1]

Thanks. --ChoChoPK (球球PK) (talk | contrib) 14:20, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

Translation:
With the Emergency Currency Measures, and also the exchange of currency from the won to the hwan, at the time "won" was inscribed for "hwan" on the new banknotes; and that's because, as a result of a previous Emergency Currency Measure's decision, these new notes to be issued were to be manifactured by the US Government Printing Office.

[edit] South Korean won (old)

Hi,

I believe that South Korean won (1945) is a better name. I have been editing currency related article for a long time. And I know there are a lot of countries that go through multiple redenominations (such as Yugoslav dinar). South Korean won (old) may be fine now, but what if there will be a third won in the future. I believe the most scalable naming scheme is South Korean won (1945). --ChoChoPK (球球PK) (talk | contrib) 06:00, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Images moved to Commons

Hi,

Just a kind reminder. If you move an image to Commons, you can use this template {{NowCommons}} to tag the old images so that admins can delete the duplicate on the English wiki. Thanks. --ChoChoPK (球球PK) (talk | contrib) 08:21, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Busan Subway.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Busan Subway.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}. If you have not already done so, please also include the source of the image. In many cases this will be the website where you found it.

Please specify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Angr 21:06, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Busan Subway.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Busan Subway.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Angr 21:06, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

I see you point, but at decided to contest it. See Image talk:Busan Subway.jpgLuccas 16:43, 25 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] thank you

Hi Luccas, I have been meaning to drop you a line. Thanks for your work here. I know lots of people contribute to articles such as Busan subway, but you seem to have worked hard on that for some time. Looks good! By the way, do you know if the project to build an LRT system from Hadan-dong to Gimhae Airport to Gimhae has been abandoned? Didn't see it in the article and so I wondered. -- Mumun 22:53, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Clefs Images

Hi,

You recently changed the images at the "Clefs" page to .svg format. Unfortunately in doing so a lot of space was added on the top and bottom of the images, causing them to misalign with the text. Do you think it would be a good idea to remake the images without the extra space?--Gheuf 21:07, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

I ask you b/c I don't know how to edit images at Wikipedia commons. Maybe it would be easier just to restore the wikipedia images until the pared-down versions of the commons images can be made.--Gheuf 17:00, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Busan

If the images on Busan are yours, thanks a lot for the upgrades. It is a problem WikiProject must address-we lack many photos! Thanks again for the pictures. 70.227.200.188 01:26, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

All the images in Busan aren't mine. I have some put none that I believe would complement the article more than the one currently in use. But the ones in Geumjeongsan are mine. — Luccas 19:32, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
