Hello, Wikipedia reader! I am a Romanian-American MD and I also graduated as a Biophysicist. (More about me on my blog.) Besides the professional interest, I care about urban civilization (European football and Eurodance included), sociology, politics and history.

I am contributing to Wikipedia since 2003, mainly in the fields of biology, physics and Romanian-specific articles, when I found Wikipedia useful in preparing my exams. I avoid editing clinical articles, as I am required not to practice medicine until I get the US license (and I am not sure what this may really mean).

I am not sure which of the licenses already described are fit, but, basically, you are free to do whatever you like (as in BSD-like licenses) with my contributions, but expect no compensation for any damage it may cause (no legal liability whatsoever), no help or additional content on whatever I'm writing, no answer to your inquiries. This rule applies to everything was / will be contributed by me, be it under my login account or as anonymous user. The only exception would be the derivatives I am creating from works licensed under GNU FDL, which will be GNU FDL-licensed too (I don't have a choice there). Examples for derivatives from GNU FDL-licensed content would be the maps I am creating starting from other maps, or translations from other Wikipedias.

According to the Romanian law (whose subject I am), any controversial contribution, such as in politics, should be regarded as a pamphlet (that would be a loss of truth and a gain in humour) and no legal liability should apply to this content. I am not aware about the American law and, frankly, I'd refugee in Vatican's consulate, like Noriega, rather than learning it the hard way.

I believe that Wikipedia and generally the Internet are a PR lever for Romania, countering the classical media stories, which are leaning too much on the negative side regarding our country position in WWII, Cold War and this age of the so-called war on terror.

Although partly American, I am disgusted by the Americano-centric turn that Wikipedia is taking. Everything non-American is irrelevant, any US-broadcasted fart is in turn relevant, any blatant lie from the US media becomes truth. I am not going to fight the lies inside the article, but always on the talk page - I always have to give a ton of arguments and I am not sure I can spare the time. As a warning, I am telling you: read the American-centric articles with circumspection.

At this moment I am looking for a bigger score on GRE and TOEFL, so I would focus on translations (especially new articles), typo fixing and totally new articles, which should be exercise for the GRE essays. Please, please look on my English articles and fix the grammar and syntax errors, as I am constantly watching for your input.

PS. Many readers seem to be confused by my name, supposing that I am a girl. While I bet they are more polite because of that supposition, I have to dissapoint them - no, I am not a girl.
