Lucy Merriam

Lucy Merriam (born July 13, 2002 in New York City) is a model/actress.

She is currently best known for portraying little Emma McDermott on the soap opera All My Children which she landed at the age of 4. She first appeared in the role in July 2006.


She began modeling when she was six months old, first appearing in the Fisher Price Christmas catalog. She has also modeled for The Children's Place, Ralph Lauren, Toys R Us, Macy's, Target, Carters, Stride Right, NY University, Half Moon Resort in Jamaica, Alvin Ailey, Parents magazine, American Baby magazine, Baby Talk magazine, and Preparation H (yep, really). She has acted in commercials including Valvoline, Kimberly-Clark, and Sprint, but only appeared on camera for Leapfrog. Since July, 2006, she has played the role of recurring character Emma McDermott on "All My Children" on ABC.

Lucy's interests are school, jets (particularly military jets--she is a huge fan of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels), baseball, painting, horses and dolls. She enjoys music and is currently studying piano and drums.

Lucy's mother Lisa is a brand image consultant and book author (children's books and business articles and books) and her father Matt is an entrepreneur in the data technology field. She has a younger brother Joseph Merriam who also models and acts. Joseph has appeared on numerous magazine covers, on the "Conan O'Brien Show" as Will Ferrell's dare-devil infant son and in ads for Johnson & Johnson Baby Wash. Two semi-ferral cats, Millard Mtlvovich and Clarence Walter Beeks, round out her family.

Lucy is a descendent from early settlers in the Concord, MA area who were active in the Revolutionary War. She is related to the Merriams of the Merriam-Webster dictionary fame as well as the former governor of California Frank Merriam. She is the step-niece of Broadway and television actor Remak Ramsay.
