Phoebe on assignment from her new boss, Jason Dean, sits in P3 with an online date. As he filrts he touches her and she feels his shimmer, realizing he is a demon. She runs to Piper who is trying to handle the cancelation of her rock act for the weekend. Piper freezes the bar to check if the hot guy is a demon and when he doesn't freeze, she blows him up. Outside, a musician plays on the street, begging for change. A Leprechaun watches from behind a bush, then send him a little luck, which appears as a $50 bill for the player. The Leprechaun runs off and bumps into a demon who kills him. The demon calls upon the Leprechaun's rainbow and uses it to steal Leprechauns' gold nuggets and their magic.

Paige has shrunk another of her favorite sweaters and believes she can cast a spell to make up for her magic debts. One of her spells sends her to a field of Leprechauns, where they have been discussing how defeat the demon. The demon appears, but Paige saves the Leprechaun. And they orb back to the house. When the sisters don't respond quickly enough for his liking, the Leprechaun enhances their luck so they can find the demon. Pat Benetar appears at the front door of the house, fixing Piper's band problems. Paige uses the luck to gamble, but loses all her winnings with a pair of snake eyes. Phoebe's luck brings her boss Jason to her door, who takes her to a bar where online dates meet.

Back at the House, Paige and Piper use a pair snake's eyes to scry for the demon and find his lair. The demon waits for them, overwhelms them with bad luck, and kills the Leprechaun. With their luck turned sour, everything goes wrong and finally demons attack and steal Piper. Paige and Phoebe return to the leprechaun's field to ask the others for help. Together they find Piper and overwhelm the demon with bad luck. A meteor strikes the demon and kills him.

Luck restored to normal in the world, Piper wonders if she should sell the club. Leo tells Piper he has gone on paternity leave from his whitelighter duties. Pat Benatar plays the club.

Phoebe accepts an invitation from an online date and discovers the would be romancer has been her boss. When he promises not to let it interfere with her job, she lets him buy her a drink.

  • The episode title is a reference to the breakfast cereal Lucky Charms, which mascot character is a Leprechaun.
  • At one point the Leprechaun Shamus tells musician Neil Giraldo, "Don't even try it, Neil. I already hit you with my best shot". This is in reference to the song Hit Me with Your Best Shot, which singer (and Neil's wife) Pat Benatar sings.
  • In this episode Pat Benatar sings Heartbreaker at P3.
  • Leo gets paternity leave from his Whitelighter duties in order to care for Wyatt in this episode.
  • In the season 5 episode The Importance of Being Phoebe, Cole says that Phoebe doesn't drink. However, at the end of this particular episode when Jason asks Phoebe what she wants to drink, she says "Martini, dirty". The leprechaun has earlier urged Phoebe to take some risks in order to find out if she would have good or bad luck. This is perhaps one risk that Phoebe is taking, along with agreeing to go out on a date with someone she met online, Cyrano73, who turned out to be her boss Jason Dean. Although, phoebe has been seen to drink alcohol in many other episodes such as, I've Got You Under My Skin, Cheaper by the Coven and Extreme Makeover: World Edition.
  • The leprechauns reprise their roles for the season 5 and the season 7 finales. Another leprechaun appears in the season 6 episode Spin City who gets help from the Paige after he was mutated by an evil witch's spell. They are also present in the season 8 episodes Gone with the Witches and Repo Manor
  • Phoebe mentions Justin Timberlake as one of her good luck signs. It is in reference to their brief, rumored relationship during the filming of this episode.
  • In this episode Paige showed green orbs, which represent the Irish clover colour.
  • This episode got a 4.0/6 in ratings share.
  • The spells the Leprechauns use are actually phrases from the Irish language.
