Lucian Bute (born February 28, 1980 in Galaţi, Romania) is a Romanian boxer now living and fighting out of Montreal, Canada.

At a height of 6'2 and a arm length of 27.5" (Southpaw), Bute has a professional record of 19 wins (16 KO's), 0 losses and 0 draws and his ranked 6th in the world by Ring Magazine. He is the current NABA, NABF, WBC Continental Americas and WBO Intercontinental Super Middleweight Champion. Bute is trained by Stephan Larouche who was also the trainer of former world champions Eric Lucas and Leonard Dorin. As an amateur Bute won the bronze medal at the 1999 World Amateur Boxing Championships in Houston, Texas and the Gold Medal at 2001 Francophony Games.

Bute's scheduled fight on December 1, 2006 was rescheduled to January 26, 2007 due to the hand injury he suffered on September 15, 2006 against James Obede Toney. Bute's trainers justified their decision by mentioning that Bute's health is a top priority since it is possible for him to challenge for a World Championship soon. His next fight with Sakio Bika in June in Montreal is an eliminator for IBF title holder Alejandro Berrio.
