Lucia Bride of Sweden

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

National Lucia Bride of Sweden (in Swedish: Sveriges Lucia) is a competition for Swedish females. Prior to the year of 2000, the contest took place in the Swedish zoo park Skansen.

The competition takes place December 13th and the contestants, two runner ups and the winner sing Christmas carols during Christmas Day.

The competition is based on personal interviews and voice capacity of singing gospels and carols.

Yvonne Ryding, titleholder of the 1983 contest, also took part in the Miss Sweden pageant the following year and went to win Miss Universe.
