Lucas de Groot

Lucas de Groot (21 June 1963 in Noordwijkerhout, the Netherlands) is a Dutch type designer. He is the head of the type foundry Fontfabrik.
He is mostly known for the very large font family Thesis (TheSans, TheSerif, TheMix, TheSansMono and later TheAntiqua), Corpid (previously AgroSans), and Calibri.
Luc de Groot also designed custom fonts such as Calibri and Consolas for Microsoft Vista, for the newspapers like Der Spiegel with ‘SpiegelSans’, Die tageszeitung with ‘Taz’, Folha de S. Paulo with ‘FolhaSerif’, or corporations like Sun Microsystems with ‘SunSans’.
