Luc Bourdon (born on February 16, 1987 in Shippagan, New Brunswick) is a highly rated Canadian hockey defenceman, and is widely predicted to become a top ranking defender in the National Hockey League.

Bourdon's hometown is Shippagan, New Brunswick and he listed as 6'2", and weighs in at 210 pounds. He has a longterm girlfriend, Sarah Daly, who supports him day to day. He is ranked 6th among North American skaters according to the NHL's Central Scouting Service. He played in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League for the Val-d'Or Foreurs, before being traded. He was drafted in the first round, 10th overall, by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. His shot has been clocked at 92mp/h.[1]

Bourdon was on the Canadian team who participated in the 2004 International Ice Hockey Federation World championship in Piestany, Slovakia and Breclav and Hodonin, Czech Republic. He was traded to the Moncton Wildcats to complete the 2005-2006 season in the QMJHL. He was also in the 2005-06 IIHF Under 20 World Championship in Vancouver, British Columbia. In the championship, he was named to the all tournament team. Many considered him the best player to Team Canada during their gold medal finish, leading all defenseman in points and throwing some vicious hits.

On May 4, 2006, the Vancouver Canucks announced they had come to terms on a three-year deal with Bourdon, rumored to be in the area of $850,000 US (the 2005 rookie maximum).

Some consider Luc Bourdon the second best defenseman taken in the 2005 draft behind Jack Johnson. He is projected to become a #1 defenseman in the NHL.

On October 10, 2006, Luc Bourdon played his first NHL game, a 2-1 loss to the Minnesota Wild.
