[edit] Dry County

Lubbock County is not dry, however, within the city limits of Lubbock itself, packaged liquor may not be sold, except at a winery. Liquor may be purchased in Lubbock "by the drink" in bars and restaurants. There are many liquor stores in Lubbock County just outside the city limits of Lubbock, most of them just south of Lubbock along a neon-lit stretch of U.S. Highway 87 popularly known as "The Strip".
