Luís Oliveira Gonçalves

Luís Oliveira Gonçalves (born 22 June 1960) is the current coach of the Angola national football team. He is part Brazilian. [1]
Before coaching the senior side, Gonçalves was in charge of the Under-20 team, with which he won the African Youth Championship. He sprang a major surprise when Angola managed to qualify for the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany. His team finished top of a tough group which included Nigeria. Gonçalves guided the team to a third place finish in Group D highlighted by a 0-0 draw against traditional giants Mexico. Gonçalves also stood out by being the only African coach at the tournement.
He is known for his impish sense of humour and his shiny suits. A studious, tactically astute coach, Gonçalves was not a prolific player in his younger days. He is sometimes called the Professor for his reading of the game.
