Luís Amado

Luís Filipe Marques Amado (b. September 17, 1953) is the current Minister of Foreign Affairs of Portugal in the government led by the Socialist Party. Before replacing Diogo Freitas do Amaral as Minister of Foreign Affairs on June 30 2006, Amado was the Minister of Defence. Amado graduated in economics from the Technical University of Lisbon. Lived most of his life in Madeira.

Luís Amado, is graduated in Economics by the Technical University of Lisbon. He is also advisor to the Portuguese National Defense Institute and Visiting Professor at Georgetown University. He is married (separated, long time affair with an Executive member of the World Bank; Mrs.Sarah Cliffe)and has two children.He lived most of his life in Madeira Islands, where he was a deputy in the Regional Assembly.
