Leeds Student Radio (now broadcasting as LSRfm.com) is a student radio station covering the campuses of the University of Leeds, Leeds Metropolitan University and Leeds College of Music, UK, broadcasting 24 hours a day during term time on the station's website. The station also broadcasts for 4 weeks 106.6FM in and around the city of Leeds.

Like most student radio stations, it is run entirely by volunteers, mainly from the students studying at the universities; and is a member of the Student Radio Association.

LSRfm.com offers podcasts, mostly 'extra' shows, but in some cases, Listen Again Features.

The LSRfm.com Podcasts are now able available to subscribe to in a similar fashion to the Chris Moyles Breakfast Show on Radio 1, using Podcasting software, such as Apple's iTunes.

  • In 2006 Student Radio Awards, we were up for a Record Breaking 10 Awards!

However, we came away with:

Best Entertainment -> Sport on Saturday -> Bronze

Best Female -> Kim Harris -> Silver

  • In the 2005 Student Radio Awards;

Station of the Year -> Bronze

News and Talk -> LSR Votelink -> Silver

Sports Broadcasting -> Sport on Saturday -> Gold

Comedy and Drama -> Razzle Dazzle -> Gold

Due to the SAR (Students Acivity Review) carried out by LUU, the Station Manager of LSRfm.com is now Appointed in a Job Interview Style Process. The Interview Panel this Year consisted of

  • Mike Cass - Galaxy FM - Industry Expert
  • Tom Salmon - LUU Events - Independant Person
  • Greg Hughes - LSRfm.com Committee Selected Member

The Process consists of a Presentation from the Candiates, followed by Q&A, all LSRfm.com members are allowed to attend. This is followed by a closed door interview. And finally a Closed Door Discussion between the Panel Members

This years candiates were

  • Richard Andrews - Current Head of Engineering
  • Nathan Chilcott - Drive Presenter/Producer, and Event Manager for The Showcase
  • Dominic Bristow - Deputy Manager (Recruitment and Training)
  • Alexander James Payne - Programme Controller
