Talk:Lower hybrid oscillation
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
LH heating has a high efficiency. The problems lie elsewhere, above all in the coupling to the plasma. The antennas must be very close to the plasma because the waves do not propagate in vacuum. Small changes in the distance cause large changes in the coupling, which result in reflections of power that can cause arcing in the waveguides and sources. It would be nice to have a section on these issues, but even nicer if a real expert wrote it. --Art Carlson 05:46, 28 September 2005 (UTC)
