Low End Mac is an independent Mac news, editorials and information website updated weekdays. The focus is on getting the most value out of existing Macs and avoiding the expense of a new computer when possible. Much of the content on the site relates to older Macintosh computers, operating systems, peripherals, software and Apple history. According to Alexa, as of 2006 Low End Mac is the 39,201st most popular website in the world based on traffic. It was started in 1997 by Dan Knight, a long-time Mac user, and is currently published by Cobweb Publishing, Inc.
The Low End Mac Deals section of the website summarizes the best prices on the web from several dealers in new and used Macs and iPods. Another popular part of the website is a catalog of technical specifications for all Macintosh models along with descriptions of their strengths and weaknesses, upgrade options, and other information about them on the web.
