Lovespirals began in 1999 as an outgrowth of Love Spirals Downwards, the dream pop recording project of multi-instrumentalist and producer, Ryan Lum. The new outfit found Lum teaming up with vocalist Anji Bee. This Southern California duo has worked in a number of musical styles over the years, beginning with jazzy Drum and Bass club tracks as evidenced on their "Ecstatic" EP, then reverting to more familiar Dream Pop territory with their first full length CD, Windblown Kiss, and finally arriving at what seems to be a blend of the band's Electronica and Rock aspects with their sophomore CD, Free & Easy. Recent internet-only releases include 2 covers of seminal Psychedelic Rock band, Pink Floyd, possibly indicating a move away from Downtempo fare and back towards Rock again.

Lovespirals' music has been featured internationally on network television, cable, DVD, podcasts, vidcasts, Internet and radio including: The Oprah Winfrey Show, E!'s Gastineau Girls, VH1's Celebrity Fit Club, the WB's Popular boxed set, The Strand: Venice (by Daniel Myrick of The Blair Witch Project fame), The Chalet Show with Lynn Parsons, and Adam Curry's Daily Source Code. Lovespirals began a band podcast entitled "Chillin' with Lovespirals"[2] on June 15, 2005. The podcast is released sporadically, seemingly whenever the band have news to report, featuring snippets of songs in progress or sometimes whole tracks.
