[edit] Information

Sony Music (the label that released the single), taking advantage of the title of the song, used it as a project of the Japanese government for promoting tourism for Japanese people to visit the island of Guam (an island really attractive for Japanese tourist) with video also recorded in there. The single was a moderate success selling pretty well for a debut single. It debuted at #5 in the Oricon Weekly Charts selling 288,000 copies around Japan.

The song "Love the Island" and its B-Side, called "Asu, Atsuku, Motto, Tsuyoku" included in this single are such pure J-Pop tracks with the traditional unique style of old productions of Japanese producer Tetsuya Komuro (who was part of the writing, composing and producing of both songs).

It was the first and only Ami single in CD3 (8cm); since the release of her second single all of them are in CD5 (12cm) format.
