Love Is Hell pt. 1 is an EP by alternative country artist Ryan Adams, released on November 4, 2003. It is an intense, self-reflective and very intimate record, with most tracks being piano-driven ("Political Scientist", "The Shadowlands", "Avalanche", "Caterwaul") or featuring acoustic guitars as a major role ("Afraid Not Scared", "Wonderwall", "Halloween"). It features a cover of Oasis' worldwide hit Wonderwall. This album was consolidated with the Love Is Hell pt. 2 EP, and released as Love Is Hell on May 4, 2004.
