Love Affair is a 1939 film which tells the story of a couple who fall in love during a chance encounter, and promise to meet again in six months. The meeting does not occur, however, because the woman is injured and is unable to make the rendezvous. It stars Irene Dunne, Charles Boyer and Maria Ouspenskaya.

The film was written by Mildred Cram, Leo McCarey, Delmer Daves and Donald Ogden Stewart. It was directed by Leo McCarey.

The movie was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture.

Love Affair was remade in 1957 as An Affair to Remember with Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr in the lead roles, and in 1994 as Love Affair, starring Warren Beatty, Annette Bening, and, in her last feature film appearance, Katharine Hepburn.
