4e as in "quatrième"? What's up with that, mec? --Wetman 22:17, 19 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Yes, as in quatrième... That's the standard for French nobility (see, for example, Britannica's usage). --Tkinias 22:27, 19 Nov 2004 (UTC)
...or, as we call it here at the English Wikipedia, la noblesse francaise

(William M. Connolley 22:28, 21 Nov 2004 (UTC)) Why was this move done? Would it be sensible to call him the Duke of Noailles and say, ha ha, this is the english wiki? No.

I created the article using the French ordinal, but I got opposition to that. I personally prefer everything untranslated, but I decided not to push this. Deb moved several of my other articles, and rather than get in a move-war, I just moved the rest to make them uniform. I'm afraid making too much of an issue out of it will indeed get us Duke of Noailles because there are very vocal partisans of translating everything. (Just properly capitalizing duc upsets people...) --Tkinias 00:12, 22 Nov 2004 (UTC)
