Louise Minchin is a newscaster and journalist in the United Kingdom, currently presenting on BBC News 24 and ad-hoc shifts on BBC Breakfast.

Minchin was born in Hong Kong and has a degree in Spanish from St Andrew's University. She has worked for BBC World Service, the Today programme, Five and various local radio stations.

She started work for BBC Radio Five Live and News 24 in 1998. Since September 2003, she has been working alongside Jon Sopel in the early evening slot on News 24. She now presents on weekdays from 2 - 5pm and has also fronted BBC News bulletins on BBC One.

Minchin also presented In the Know, a BBC sports magazine programme in the summer of 2004, with John Inverdale.
