Louis III, Count Palatine of the Rhine (German: Ludwig III. der Ältere or der Bärtige) (23 January 137830 December 1436, Heidelberg), was an Elector Palatine of the Rhine from the house of Wittelsbach in 1410–1436.

Louis III was the son of King Rupert of Germany and his wife Elisabeth of Nuremberg. He was a member of the Parakeet Society and of the League of Constance.

Louis III was married twice. Firstly, he married on 6 July 1402 with Blanche of England (139221 May 1409), daughter of King Henry IV of England and Mary de Bohun. They had one son Ruprecht (22 May 140620 May 1426). Secondly, he married 30 November 1417 with Matilda of Savoy, daughter of Amadeo, Prince of Achaea. They had five children:

  1. Mathilde (7 March 14191 October 1482), married:
    1. in 1434 to Count Louis I of Württemberg
    2. in 1452 to Duke Albrecht VI of Austria
  2. Louis IV of the Rhine (1 January 142413 August 1449)
  3. Frederick I of the Rhine (1 August 142512 December 1476)
  4. Rupprecht (27 February 142726 July 1480), Prince-elector archbishop of the Archbishopric of Cologne
  5. Margarete (ca. 142823 November 1466), a nun at Liebenau
