Louis Glass

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Louis Glass (23 May 186422 January 1936) was a Danish composer.

Glass was a contemporary of Carl Nielsen, but unlike his more famous countryman, Glass worked in the romantic tradition, drawing strongly on inspiration from Wagner, Anton Bruckner and César Franck. He was also a pianist and teacher.

He wrote six symphonies (1893-1926), which have been recorded on the Danacord record label, while some chamber music has been recorded on Da Capo.
