Lotte is a municipality in the district of Steinfurt, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is situated on the north side of the Teutoburg Forest, close to the border of lower - saxony, approx. 10 km west of Osnabrück. Population as of 2006 is about 13,600 inhabitants. The village consists of 5 smaller villages - Bueren, Wersen, Halen and Alt Lotte, as well as Osterberg.
