Talk:Los Patios
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Los Patios is a small county in the Colombian department of Norte de Santander and is listed on that page. I will update that page to point here. I am certain as Florentina Salas (mentioned in the park names) is a local hero there.
There is more info out there for this municipality [1] but I get the impression that there isn't much to say and there are higher priorities for Colombia (and Argentina). I understand the remianing Spanish but it is a fairly convoluted history of how ranches were created, merged and renamed as the basis for the local boundaries. It isn't very interesting and requires local knowledge to clarify. Mtiedemann 00:25, 16 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- My bad on Argentina. The original omitted mention of a country. I saw Rosario, the name of a reasonably major town in Argentina, saw the mention of cattle ranching, and jumped to a wrong conclusion. So there is also a Rosario in Colombia? We should list it at Rosario (disambiguation). -- Jmabel | Talk 00:58, Dec 16, 2004 (UTC)

- There is a Villa Rosario in the same department, another municipality like Los Patios. But I had the same thought about Rosario, Argentina when I first saw the article - it is much bigger than the many other Rosarios that there must be in Latin America.
-
- The article seems to say that it was originally part of Villa Rosario municipality and then No.37 of the province, before being called Los Patios. But I'd prefer to have a map of these provinces before committing to that translation. Mtiedemann 01:12, 16 Dec 2004 (UTC)

- I see that the translation is completed whilst I've been 'talking' - seems fine, well done. Mtiedemann 01:15, 16 Dec 2004 (UTC)
