"Lose Control" is a 2005 single by Missy Elliott featuring Ciara and Fatman Scoop, released on Goldmind/Atlantic Records. It contains samples from Cybotron's "Clear" and Hot Streak's "Body Work". The first single from Elliot's sixth album The Cookbook (2005), "Lose Control" peaked at number-three on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States, becoming Elliott's ninth top ten single, Ciara's fourth, and Fatman Scoop's first. Elliott's first single off The Cook Book, "Lose Control" went platinum five times, becoming her biggest single to date (passing the previous single "Work It").

[edit] Video

The single's video begins with dancers (one with Elliott's face digitally placed on hers) dancing in a desert storm and moves to Elliott and her dancers dancing in a bar. As Elliott holds a puppy, the camera zooms into a Nokia 770 Internet tablet and the setting changes to an old-time country western-style film, where Ciara and others perform the main choreography. Later, Elliott, Ciara, and other dancers dance on a deserted street in the desert. The song later changes to the first set of lyrics to the song "On & On". The video also features a cameo by Tommy Lee.

[edit] Awards

"Lose Control" won the 2006 Grammy Award for "Best Short Form Music Video". It also won the MTV Video Music Awards for "Best Hip-Hop Video" and "Best Dance Video" in (2005).
