Los Cancajos

Los Cancajos, also Playa de Los Cancajos is the second largest community in the island of La Palma in the Canary Islands. The population was 434 (INE, 2004). Los Cancajos is located in the community of Breña Baja.

The area features hotel complexes in Los Cancajos. Los Cancajos is in the east side of La Palma, the second next to the capital city of Santa Cruz de La Palma and the La Palma International Airport.

In the 1980s, the area became a tourist attraction by constructing the island's first hotels located off the road that encircles the island and is in the old road and the interchange with the road linking to towns and villages on the other side of the island especially Tazacorte. The urban areas covers the rest of the area. Salt mines used to dominate the industry. Los Cancajos has 2,000 beds as well as 7,500 guest beds in La Palma.

The town features a supermarket, stores and restaurants. The hotels and the apartments dominate within the coastline. By the sea includes a promenade with palm trees.

Los Cancajos beach is coloured with black sand.
