Los Campesinos! are a seven piece indie pop band from Cardiff, Wales. They blend a mixture of genres, including indie, pop, rock, and dance.

The band came together at university in 2006, and released four songs available for free on the Internet. These four songs make up their debut EP, 'Hold On Now Youngster', which seems to be only available on the Internet, and a tangible version has not yet been found. These songs received a lot of interest from the public and various radio stations, which led to them having a recording session with the BBC, where they recorded two songs from the EP, a brand new song, and a cover of 'Frontwards', originally by Pavement. These four songs were also released on the Internet, available for free. In November 2006, they were signed by Wichita Recordings.

Los Campesinos! released their first single on 26 February 2007, a double A-side containing the songs 'We Throw Parties, You Throw Knives' and 'Don't Tell Me To Do The Math(s)', which received airplay on Radio 1 from the likes of Zane Lowe and Steve Lamacq.

Their name means "The Peasants" in Spanish.
