The Los Angeles City Attorney serves as the chief prosecutor for the residents of Los Angeles. He, along with the City Controller, Mayor, and 15 Councilmembers are the only city officials elected by the people. The current Los Angeles City Attorney is Rocky Delgadillo, who took over when 4 term City Attorney James Hahn became the mayor of Los Angeles.
