Welcome to the Zone of Bob, Lord of Bob. Actually, that's really, really lame. Anyway, I do have things to do. Plans. Evil plots to improve my Wikipedia lore for all to see (at least, all who research the War of 1812 to see).

[edit] About me
As for who I am? Well, I'm a writing/history undergraduate at the University of Victoria in Victoria, BC, which makes me less than qualified compared to most of the contributors around here. This fills me with shame, but I do know a thing or two, and in spaces where there are holes, I intend to fill them (when I feel like it). After all, a little bit of knowledge is better than none at all.
I am a supporter of the Conservative Party of Canada: while I disagree with some of their policies and don't think Stephen Harper is conspicuously awesome, they haven't stolen millions of dollars yet and they seem to have a fairly good idea of what should be done with the country, both attributes sorely lacking in Canadian politics these days.
I could go into greater details about my political beliefs, but, honestly, if you're curious about my position on something it would be easiest for both of us if you just asked. You'll get the information you'll want, and I'll be spared from writing a lot of dry political crap that nobody's interested in!
Unless the knowledge is stupid. Then, you know, BALEETED! and so forth. If you care about some of my Wikibeliefs, read my statement about extreme inclusionism of people, and a little reminder for those whose useless little pages are threatened on AfD.
Amazingly, my user page has only been vandalized twice. Can you believe it?
I scored my one thousandth edit on November 26, 2005, on Ricky Ray. I was commenting on how tough Ray's 2005 CFL playoff had been, and the urge came over me to check Kate's tool, and holy crap, edit 1,000! Weird. Eerie. Best of all, that turned out to be a terrific omen for the 93rd Grey Cup that Sunday, which I went to, which my team won, and which was possibly the single best sporting event I'd ever seen, in person or on television. In fact, it may have been the single best four hours of my life. I think it probably was.
I support, in this order, the NHL's Edmonton Oilers, the CFL's Edmonton Eskimos, Major League Baseball's Toronto Blue Jays, and the English Premiership's Charlton Athletic. I freely admit to my POV in thinking that Mark Messier is the greatest hockey player, like, ever, and not just because he's a former Oiler awesome fellow who played for my beloved and now-defunct St. Albert Saints.
June 19, 2006 was one of the worst days of my life. It was the first time I cried since I was eight years old. Go Oilers go.
[edit] Random Me Music Trivia
My favourite band is Pink Floyd, my favourite solo artist Peter Gabriel, my favourite ex-Beatle Paul McCartney. The first band I ever saw in concert was the Dixie Chicks, who I loathe. There's probably a lesson there somewhere.
The greatest album ever created is either Floyd's The Wall or Genesis's Foxtrot. I firmly and eternally believe that Phil Collins is a skilled drummer and nothing else. The most underrated instrument in rock and roll is the saxophone, the most overrated bass. I like a good solid drum solo now and then, because I'm insane.
I don't know what the best song is, but A Whiter Shade of Pale by Procol Harum is, considering the era, the most extraordinary song ever.
I like extraordinarily few original albums released after 1990 (I can currently think of one that I would take to the desert island with me). I felt great shame when I heard Drops of Jupiter by the staggeringly mediocre band Train and liked it, although I felt better when I heard that it was just a rip-off of some rejected Rolling Stones riff. I don't know if that's true, but I sure as heck hope it is
- It is not true, Drops of Jupiter is a completely original song that was written by the members of Train, it also won a Grammy in 2002 for "Best Rock Song" and a Grammy for "Best String Arrangement". —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dohcmark8 (talk • contribs).

[edit] Things I've Already Done
I decided to completely scrap this section because it was largely out of date, I know what I've done, anybody with the patience to wade through my contributions can find out what I've done, and I can't possibly see when anybody's going to say, "Gee, I wonder what sorts of articles Lord Bob has contributed significantly to."
Still, I have a general interest in ice hockey, Canadian history (particularly the War of 1812), and Canadian Forces articles, as well as occasional literature and other sports contributions. I like and know classic rock a lot but never write about it. I don't know why. I also hang around AfD a lot, working to purge the wiki of things that suck. If you see me, say hi! (well, don't really, that'll clutter things up something terrible, but thinking it is fine).
I currently have one DYK (Raghib Ismail) and zero featured articles under my belt. But they will come. Oh, they will come. Just kidding, they probably won't.
[edit] Useless Miscellany
Any questions? Comments? Address them to my talk page! Somebody once edited this page to make a comment and I didn't see it until much after it had been edited. This made me feel bad.
Someday, I am determined to make this user page not stupid. Then again, I'm still determined to write a detailed and in-depth article on every Canadian Halifax-class frigate. So there's a long queue when it comes to my determination.
