Lord Thomas Howard

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lord Thomas Howard (1511-1537) was a son of Thomas Howard, 2nd Duke of Norfolk, by his second marriage to Agnes Tilney.

He secretly married, or had a relationship with, King Henry VII's granddaughter (and so Henry VIII's niece and well in line to the throne) Margaret Douglas, and for this he was banished to the Tower of London in 1536. Though he was technically sentenced to death, King Henry never signed the warrant; Howard accordingly died in Tower of illness in 1537.
