LORAN-C transmitter Loop Head

LORAN-C transmitter Loop Head is a LORAN-C transmitter at Loop Head in the Republic of Ireland, situated at 52° 35' 03" N, 9° 49' 06" W ( 52°35′3″N, 9°49′6″W). LORAN-C transmitter Loop Head is used as Zulu Secondary station with a transmission power of 250 kW at the Ejde LORAN-C chain (GRI 9007) and as Yankee Secondary in the Lessay LORAN-C chain (GRI 6731). It uses as antenna tower a 219 metre tall guyed mast radiator. The decision to erect the LORAN-C transmission mast at Loop Head was controversial.
