The Lopez-Fitzgerald family is a working class Latino-Irish family in the fictional New England town of Harmony on NBC's daytime drama, Passions. The Lopez-Fitzgeralds earned the wrath of Crane patriarch Alistair Crane sometime during the 1980s when Martin Fitzgerald ran off with Alistair's wife, Katherine, and the entire family has suffered ever since. The two families met due to the marriage of Ivy Winthrop and Julian Crane. Pilar had previously been a maid for Maine Governor Harrison Winthrop but moved with his daughter Ivy to Harmony to be her maid (and by extension the maid of the Cranes).

  • Martin Fitzgerald is the husband of Pilar Lopez-Fitzgerald and the father of Antonio, Luis, Theresa, Miguel, and Paloma. Martin was working for Crane Industries in the 1980s when he discovered that his boss, Alistair Crane, had been verbally, physically, and sexually abusing his wife, Katherine. Martin was forced to leave town by Alistair in the mid-1980s after helping him hide a body supposedly killed by Alistair's daughter, Sheridan. The two eventually returned to Harmony in 2004. Martin's father was named Brian Fitzgerald and his mother's maiden name was O'Leary.
  • Pilar Lopez-Fitzgerald is the matriarch of the Lopez-Fitzgerald family, as well as the wife of Martin Fitzgerald and the mother of Antonio, Luis, Theresa, Miguel, and Paloma. Pilar was the head housekeeper at the Crane mansion (as well as Ivy Crane's personal maid) when Martin disappeared, leaving her to take care of their five children. After Martin's disappearance, Pilar found that she could no longer support her four remaining children on her wage as the Crane maid. Pilar decided she could not leave her job with Ivy and opted to send her infant daughter, Paloma, to live with her sister, Maria, in Puerto Arena, Mexico. Pilar worked two jobs while Antonio looked after Luis, Theresa and Miguel for the next ten years. Pilar is one of the eight children of Antonio Lopez and his wife Maria. Pilar's siblings include her brother Francisco and her sisters Maria and Florencia who is a nun.
  • Katherine Barrett Common-law wife of Martin Fitzgerald for over 20 years. Ex-wife of Alistair and mother of Julian and Sheridan. Martin and Katherine had been living under the names Bob and Ellen Wheeler and living in Mexico.

  • Antonio Brian Lopez-Fitzgerald is the eldest child of Martin Fitzgerald and Pilar Lopez-Fitzgerald. For many years Antonio raised his younger brothers and sister. Antonio left town for reasons unknown about ten years after his father's disappearance and went to live on the Caribbean island of St. Lisa, where he rescued his brother's fiancée, Sheridan Crane, from the waters. He eventually fell in love with, and married, Sheridan (9 January 2003 - 24 June 2004; dissolved by his death), unaware that she was still in love with Luis. Antonio was killed on 24 June 2004, when Alistair caused the Crane jet to explode, believing that Sheridan was on board.
  • Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald is the second child of Martin Fitzgerald and Pilar Lopez-Fitzgerald. Luis spent much of his life trying to find out why his father disappeared when he was a child, and was enraged to learn that his father had actually run off with Katherine Crane to Mexico. Luis shared a tortuous love with Sheridan Crane, and eventually had a son with her, Marty, on September 9, 2003. Unfortunately, Marty was kidnapped by Luis's crazy ex-girlfriend, Beth Wallace, upon his birth, and presumed dead for over a year and a half. When Luis and Sheridan realized that Marty was their son, Beth fled the country with the help of her newly-discovered father, Alistair, and Luis set off after her and Marty. Luis called Sheridan twice, once in August and once in September, before being stabbed to death in Morocco.He returned in 2005 and was reunited with his family but not Sheridan as she is now married to Christopher Boothe
  • Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald is the youngest son of Martin Fitzgerald and Pilar Lopez-Fitzgerald. Miguel was best friends with Kay Bennett all throughout his childhood, and it seemed as if the two might become an item. However, when Kay's cousin, Charity, came to town, Miguel was smitten with her. Kay schemed to get Miguel back, and eventually used the "Essence of Charity" to make Miguel believe that she was really Charity, and slept with him. Their daughter, Maria Ivy Lopez-Fitzgerald, was born as a result on July 21, 2003. Miguel left Harmony on July 26, 2004, to chase after Charity, who left town after realizing that she was coming in between Miguel and Maria. He also returned in 2006 and is trying to won Kay from Fox even though Kay is now married to Kay, he still loves her.
  • Paloma Lopez-Fitzgerald is the youngest child of Martin Fitzgerald and Pilar Lopez-Fitzgerald. Paloma was sent to live with her aunt Maria in Puerto Arena, Mexico, as an infant after her father disappeared. As it turned out, her father and Katherine Crane were actually living in Puerto Arena, too, and in the same bed and breakfast. Paloma eventually returned to Harmony in 2004 with her brother, Luis, after learning that her mother was gravely ill. She is now dating Noah Bennett.


  • Julian Crane Son of Alistair and Katherine and brother of Sheridan. Once believed to be married to Theresa and father of her son little Ethan. In time it was revealed that the marriage was invalid and that Little Ethan is the son of Ethan Winthrop. Julian's daughter Fancy is currently involved with Luis. His son Fox was once involved with Theresa.
  • Alistair Crane Current husband of Theresa but he is believed to be deceased. Alistair is the ex-husband of Katherine and the father of Julian and Sheridan. Alistair adopted Little Ethan partly because he thought Little Ethan was his grandson. Alistair has a history of raping women including Katherine and Theresa.

  • Martin Lopez-Fitzgerald is presumably the child of Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald and Sheridan Crane (Sheridan was also sleeping with Antonio at the time). Born on September 9, 2003, he was kidnapped by his mother's demented half-sister, Beth Wallace, who passed off Marty as her own child. When DNA tests proved that Marty was really Sheridan's son in 2005, Beth fled the country with Marty with the help of her father, Alistair. Alistair and Beth were revealed to be in Rome. The train Alistair, Beth and Marty were on was hit by a military missle and exploded. The three are presumed deceased.
  • Ethan Lopez-Fitzgerald Crane is the biological son of Ethan Winthrop and Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald, long believed to be Julian Crane's son. He was born on 21 June 2002, and adopted in 2004 by Ethan and Gwen Winthrop before being returned to his mother in 2005 and being adopted once more by his grandfather, Alistair, upon Alistair's marriage to Theresa. Little Ethan is currently the Alistair's sole heir to the Crane empire, and Alistair plans on molding Little Ethan to follow in his footsteps. Theresa recently discovered that her eldest child was fathered by Ethan and not Julian, making him a Crane only via adoption.
  • Jane Winthrop was conceived when her mother, Theresa, drugged her father, Ethan Winthrop, dressed up as his wife, Gwen, and seduced him in order to trade Jane for Little Ethan, who had been adopted by the Winthrops. Ethan and Gwen were unaware of Theresa's deception, however, believing Jane to be the child that Theresa was to be the surrogate for. When Jane was born on December 2, 2004, and revealed to be Theresa's daughter with Ethan, Gwen, who is barren, was devastated, and went temporarily insane, kidnapping "Ashley". Ethan, Theresa, and Fox eventually found Gwen and Jane and returned them home. Ethan and Gwen currently have temporary custody of Jane.
