Longtan, Taoyuan

Longtan (龍潭) is a rural township in southern Taoyuan County, Taiwan Province of the Republic of China. Longtan is home to the headquarters of the Republic of China Army.
The township is known for the Buddhist temple in the centre of Longtan Lake, and the massive Bainien community project. The area is surrounded by high-tech industries and mountains.
Longtan is home to a number of military bases, and a few research installations, Chungshan Research institute and Institute of Nuclear Energy Research are 2 of the more well known ones.
The army headquarters of the ROC are also located in Longtan.
