London Thames Gateway Development Corporation
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The London Thames Gateway Development Corporation is an unelected urban Development Corporation that has been charged with redevelopment of two East London areas in the Thames Gateway that fall within Greater London:
- the Lower Lea Valley area in the boroughs of Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Newham and Waltham Forest.
- the London Riverside on the north bank of the River Thames in the boroughs of Newham, Barking and Dagenham and Havering. The Riverside area is contiguous with the area covered by the Thurrock Development Corporation.
From October 2005, it has taken over certain planning functions from the councils of these boroughs in the designated area.
