London Road Campus

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

London Road Campus (or the 'City Campus') of the University of Reading is the original campus of that university. It is located on the London Road, immediately to the south of the centre of the town of Reading in the English county of Berkshire.

Whilst most departments of the university have now relocated to the much larger Whiteknights Campus, or to a lesser extent to the Bulmershe Court Campus, London Road is still home to the School of Continuing Education. The University Great Hall, which plays host to the university graduation ceremonies, is also to be found at London Road.

The university run Museum of English Rural Life has recently relocated to a site adjacent to the London Road Campus. In the near future it is expected, that more departments will return as the Bulmershe site is closed.

Current University Departments on the London Road: - School of Continuing Education - The Cotton Club - School of Health & Social Care - Estates Management - Museum of English Rural Life (from 2005) - University Archive Service (from 2006) - The Innovation Centre @ Reading (from 2006)
