[edit] History
The current route 79 was London bus route 79A renumbered, and runs from Alperton to Edgware. It was first operated by London Buslines.
Route 79, like route 95, had allocation problems. First it was alocated to London Buslines, then the route was transferred to MTL London at the North Acton garage, a school route was created for schooldays from Kingsbury to Alperton contracted to Centrwest at the Alperton garage. MTL London merged with Metroline and the North Acton garage was closed and the route was transfered to North Wembley garage.
Now the route has a new contract at First London, stationed at Alperton using Volvo B7TL / Wright Eclipse Gemini double-deckers.
