London Buses route 202 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, United Kingdom. The service is currently contracted to Selkent. The 202 is served by low-floor Dennis Dart SLF's, but due to Selkent's loss of both the 181 and 284 from Catford Garage, the service sometimes has DAF SB220 low-floor buses.

[edit] History

The service is strange in a sense that it doesn't serve Lewisham (Catford's close neighbour), while it seems to go around (avoid) it, pick up a few passengers at Lee Green and then carry on to Blackheath.

At the Summer time the route is very busy especially during June/July, due to Lewisham Council's annual Peoples Day. There is no parking there and the 202 is the closest bus to serve it.

The 202 used to be contracted to Stagecoach London until it sold all of it's Transport For London contracted Bus routes to Macquaire Bank who renamed them back to Selkent and East London respectively.

Although the current 202 route doesn't have much history, as the number was used for be a route in West London (which has since changed to the H22) traveling to Heathrow Airport.
