Lohne, Germany

Lohne is a town in the district of Vechta, in Lower Saxony, Germany, with a population of approximately 25,000 inhabitants. It is situated approx. 8 km south-west of Vechta. The town lies on the A1 freeway between Bremen and Osnabrück. As an industrial town in the Oldenburger Münsterland (cathedral country), Lohne is particularly well know for its plastic industry. The Lohne Museum of Industry opened in March 2000. A four turbine windfarm has been in operation in Lohne since October 2003.
