Lodoletta

Lodoletta is a dramma lirico or lyric opera in three actsby Pietro Mascagni (1917) to a libretto by Giovacchino Forzano, based on the novel Two Little Wooden Shoes by Marie Louise de la Ramée, (Ouida) .
It was first performed at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome on April 30, 1917. It received its American premiere on January 12, 1918 at the Metropolitan Opera, New York, with Geraldine Farrar in the title role and Enrico Caruso.
