From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This template is a utility, designed to help in placing locator dots on maps. It uses the same technique as {{Superimpose}} to overlay a transparent ten-pixel grid and locator dot on top of the named image.

[edit] Usage
This template takes four parameters:
- The name of the base image;
- The width of the base image (number of pixels);
- The x value, or number of pixels to offset the locator dot from the left edge;
- The y value, or number of pixels to offset the locator dot from the top edge.
x and y are optional—if you don't want a locator dot, simply leave them empty.
[edit] Examples and Working Versions
For each of the following examples, the template call creates the image below it. To use them to place locator dots, you can copy these calls into your own sandbox or working pages, or simply edit and preview them here; please be careful to leave them as you found them. And please add popular locators to this list using the same format.

[edit] Discussion
Is there a map available for Canadian protected areas? There are numerous articles but no map I can find that has similar coloring and format to the one for the U.S. and Australia. Might as well develop ones for every major large country and or region of the world too...losts of work.--MONGO 07:35, 21 November 2005 (UTC)
I want to thank Papayoung for the work he's done so far. If anyone's been using the last two maps and found them slightly inaccurate, I've uploaded new versions that should fix that problem. - Diceman 18:13, 21 November 2005 (UTC)
