Lockpick Pornography is a 2005 novella written by Joey Comeau, a Canadian who also writes the webcomic A Softer World. It is published by Loose Teeth Press.
Lockpick Pornography is a book detailing the activities of a quartet of homosexual activists, led by an unnamed narrator. They are frustrated with what they believe to be a homophobic society. They create a children's book with positive gay themes and break into elementary school libraries to plant copies on the shelves. They kidnap the son of an anti-gay-marriage politician. These actions are an extreme response to their frustration, but the narrator explains:
"I'm tired of the moral high ground. We've already got more than our share of gay Gandhis. We need a General Patton. No poor bastard ever won a war by dying for his country."
The first seven chapters were originally serialized on the A Softer World website to raise money for Comeau's tuition. Those first seven chapters are still available online. Three additional chapters were added for the published version.
Gavin Crawford of This Hour Has 22 Minutes has approached Comeau about a possible film adaptation.
